How does a campaign send jobs queued and executed?

When a campaign is set to "Active," the platform doesn't blast all your emails at once. Rather, your emails get queued.

Each lead in the sequence is assigned a scheduled send time based on your configured send window.

Three inputs determine how many emails actually go out in a given day:

1. Email accounts assigned- the number of inboxes connected to the campaign

2. Daily limit per account- how many emails each inbox is allowed to send in 24 hours

If you have 5 accounts each capped at 50 emails/day, your theoretical maximum is 250 emails/day, but only within the active send window. Outside those hours, nothing goes out, and the quota resets at midnight.

What "Active" status actually means vs. "sending"?

"Active" means the campaign is enabled and eligible to send. It does not mean sending is happening right now.

Think of it as the difference between a store being "open" and having customers.

The 7 root causes of campaigns not sending

These are ordered by how frequently they appear in real support escalations.

1. Email account daily limits already reached

One of the most common cause that we've seen with a lot of users is that they've set a daily limit per account, say 50.And, the campaign has already hit that limit earlier in the day. From that point on, no more emails go out until the limit resets, typically at midnight.

This happens when you have multiple active campaigns sharing the same email accounts. Campaign A consumed 40 of your 50 daily sends before Campaign B even started. Campaign B finds only 10 slots available, sends 10, and then stops. You look at Campaign B and see almost no activity, but nothing is technically wrong.

How to check: Look at the "Sent Today" count for each assigned account, not just the campaign-level total. If accounts are at or near their daily cap, that's your answer.

2. All email accounts are disconnected or flagged

Disconnected accounts are quiet killers. An account can lose its connection due to a password change, an OAuth token expiring, a security alert from the email provider, or a two-factor authentication prompt and you won't always get a notification.

When all accounts assigned to a campaign are disconnected, the campaign has nowhere to send from. It stays "active" in status while producing nothing. No error banner, no email notification, but send activity drops to zero. Checking the account health panel shows a warning or "reconnection required" state.

If every lead in your campaign falls into one of these buckets, the campaign is effectively done, even if it still shows as active.

This is easy to miss because the lead count at the campaign level looks fine. But the count at the current sequence step might be zero.

If your send window is misconfigured to a timezone that's hours ahead of your current time, your campaign may only have a 1-hour active window per day instead of 8. Or none at all, if the window has already passed by the time you check.

How to check: Open the campaign settings, look at the send window, and cross-reference the timezone against your current local time. Is right now inside the window? If not, that's why nothing is sending.
