Christian Plascencia, the co-founder of RevGrowth, has built a thriving B2B lead generation agency using cold email as the primary tool for business growth.

The Journey of Christian Plascencia and RevGrowth

Christian Plascencia, co-founder of RevGrowth, ventured into the cold email space after working as an SDR and running his own agency. 

His deep knowledge of outbound sales, combined with his experience in cold outreach, laid the foundation for RevGrowth. The company, founded in June 2022, focuses on helping B2B companies, primarily marketing agencies, grow through outbound email marketing.

Christian describes RevGrowth's target market as "B2B companies generating over a million in ARR" and highlights that they work across a broad spectrum of industries. The agency's clients include businesses from sectors like e-commerce, B2B software, and consulting.

How It All Started: Discovering Smartlead

RevGrowth’s journey with Smartlead began early on. Christian recalls how he was among the first few users of the platform: “I was one of the first people to join Smartlead... It was like the secret weapon that only the top lead gen guys knew about.”

Smartlead’s API capabilities allowed RevGrowth to integrate the platform with Slack, Airtable, and Clay, automating much of their outreach process. 

“With these automations in place, our team can stay lean and focus on what matters most—driving results for our clients,” Christian notes. The ability to bulk upload email accounts and automate sequences helped the team streamline their cold email efforts, saving countless hours.

3. Subsequences 

Christian also highlighted the importance of Smartlead’s subsequence feature, which automates follow-ups, ensuring that no lead is left unattended. “This feature alone helped us keep up with the high volume of leads we handle for our clients, without sacrificing personalization,” Christian explains.

The Master Inbox feature alone has been responsible for doubling RevGrowth’s revenue, primarily due to the increased speed in handling replies and booking meetings.

He also suggests creating different sections for each client, so managing specific reply templates is easier.

Additionally, Christian recommends that Smartlead introduce a feature that automatically selects the most recent calendar availability when sending follow-up emails. “That would be a game-changer for us,” he says, “allowing us to respond to leads with real-time scheduling options directly from the Master Inbox.”
